Delhi HC issues notice on plea seeking stay on JEE Advanced results

  • The petition also sought to conducting of fresh examinations

The Delhi High Court on Monday issued a notice to the Ministry of Education and others over a petition seeking a stay on the declaration of the results of JEE Advanced and conducting of fresh examinations, reported ANI.

The petition was filed by a man who claimed that his son was “hounded for 45 minutes at the exam centre” before being allowed to enter the hall to take the test on September 27.

The results of the Joint Entrance Examination  (Advanced) were declared on Monday by the Indian Institute of Technology. The results were released on the official website of JEE Advanced at 10 am. According to official data, a total of 160,831 students had appeared for the exam this year.

Union Minister of Education Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal congratulated all the students who got their desired rank and requested them to work for ‘self-reliant India’ in the future, reported ANI.

Chirag Falor from Pune topped the examination with 352 marks out of 396, while Gangula Bhuvan Reddy and Vaibhav Raj bagged the second and third rank respectively.

“Kanishka Mittal (AIR 17) is the national topper among females,” said an official of IIT-Delhi was quoted by PTI, as saying.
