The Indian Premier League has returned, and enthusiasm is at an all-time high thanks to the arrival of two new teams and the reshuffling of players following the IPL mega auction. Fans will see some of the high-profile players in their new colours after the auction, which took place last month in Bengaluru. All-rounder Hardik Pandya, for example, will lead the Gujarat Titans, the IPL’s newest team, along with the Lucknow Super Giants. These adjustments will contribute to the ever-evolving league, which promises to fascinate spectators once again.

The league matches in the competition, however, would be confined to four venues across Mumbai and Pune: Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Captains who win the toss will undoubtedly consider specific venue statistics before making their judgments. For example, a captain who wins the toss at any site other than Brabourne Stadium will choose to bat second, based on the chasing side’s previous win record at the venue.

Wankhede Stadium, the home field of the Mumbai Indians, has hosted the most IPL matches (83) of the four IPL 2022 locations.

Teams batting second have won 43 times at Wankhede, a statistic that might impact captains’ squad selection or decision-making process.

MCA Stadium, on the other hand, has hosted a total of 38 IPL games, with the pursuing teams winning 20 times.

Another location where teams batting second have won 10 of the 17 games played so far is DY Patil Stadium.

Brabourne is the only venue that allows teams to bat first.

Moving on to the team records at the provided sites, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has the highest team total with 235/1 at Wankhede, with AB de Villiers also getting the best individual batting score out of the four venues (133 not out).
