Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 will be held on July 3, confirmed Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

The exam is conducted every year for admission to undergraduate courses at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). This time it will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur.

“I wish all the students the very best, all candidates have enough time to prepare for the exam,” the minister added.

Pokhriyal also announced that considering the implications of COVID-19 pandemic and its toll on the education system, the Centre has decided to quash the criteria that calls for a minimum of 75% marks in class 12.

The Education Minister further addressed issues like an increase in the number of attempts for
those who appeared for JEE Advanced 2020 amid COVID-19 restrictions, syllabus
cut and eligibility criteria for one of the most crucial exams of the country.

Reports also suggest that in view of COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the admission process, students who missed the JEE Advanced 2020 will be allowed to reappear for the Advanced exam directly, without writing the JEE Main 2021 exam.
