Class 1-8 students of Maha state board to be promoted to next class without exam due to COVID surge

All the students of the state board across Maharashtra from Class 1 to 8 will be promoted to the next class without any exam, Minister of School Education, Varsha Gaikwad said on Saturday. 

A decision regarding students of class 9 and 11 will soon be taken, Gaikwad said.

This comes amid a steep surge of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, as the state recorded nearly 48,000 cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
