Actor Aamir Ali opens up about divorce; not being allowed to meet daughter

Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh, a television favourite couple announced their divorce in January after a decade-long marriage.
They both have consistently kept quiet about their divorce and abstained from airing any negative remarks about one another in the media. Aamir recently broke his silence and discussed his divorce from Sanjeeda as well as the difficulties of being away from his 2-year-old daughter Ayra, whom they welcomed 2 years ago via surrogacy.

In his interview with ETimes, Aamir stated: “It was extremely difficult at that point. After my marriage fell apart, main hil chuka tha (I was shaken). But I am a sportsman by nature, and I never give up. I have always been a happy soul, and I am glad that I am back to being that.”
“I don’t harbour ill feelings for anyone and I wish the best for my ex. Sab khush raho life mein (Everyone should just be happy).” During the pandemic, I got a lot of time to introspect. I started looking at the positives, be it from COVID-19 or my failed relationship,” he added.

Talking about not being allowed to meet his daughter Ayra , Aamir said he has ‘immense’ love for his daughter and is sure that she is “being taken care of in the best way possible.”
Aamir confirmed that he and Sanjeeda are no longer in contact. “Main hil chuka tha. (I was stunned)” he said, recalling the breakdown of his marriage. But, he claims, he is a natural athlete who pulled himself together. Now he wishes his “ex” the best and hopes she finds someone “who keeps her happy.”

Aamir married Sanjeeda in 2012 after appearing in shows such as Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kya Dil Mein Hai, and FIR. Before getting married, the couple competed in and won the dance reality show Nach Baliye 3 in 2007. Later, they appeared on Sony TV’s reality show Power Couple.
