‘RRR’ enters Rs 1000 crore club, joins ‘Dangal’ and ‘Baahubali 2’

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s period drama “RRR” has become the third Indian movie after Dangal and Baahubali 2 to enter the Rs 1000 crore club worldwide, the makers announced on Sunday.
“1000 crore is a dream run for a film from India. We made our best for you, and you in return showered us with your priceless love. Thank you Bheem @tarak9999 fans, Ramaraju @AlwaysRamCharan fans and audience across the world. #1000CroreRRR,” Production house DVV Entertainment tweeted on Sunday.
The movie, starring Ram Charan, N T Rama Rao Jr, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn, opened in cinemas In Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi on March 25. The Hindi version alone has earned over 215 crores so far.
“[Week 3] refuses to slow down, RRRock-solid on [third] Fri… Continues to attract substantial footfalls in mass circuits… Expect higher numbers today and tomorrow [third Sat and Sun]… Fri 5 cr. Total: ₹213.59 cr. #India biz,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Saturday.
The movie narrates a fictional tale based on the lives of two freedom fighters in the early 20th century — Alluri Sitarama Raju and Kumram Bheem, played by Ram Charan and N T Rama Rao Jr. The film, which was pushed multiple times due to the pandemic, has been hailed by the trade for reviving the Indian box office.
The movie registered strong numbers at the UK box office during its opening weekend.

It is this love and affection that makes us who we are and drives us to work harder and present you all with good films. I have both vacationed and filmed in the UK several times and it has always been a great experience.”
