While he was already an established star back in 1985, Crosby spent nine months in a Texas prison over a slew of charges related to possession of illegal weapons and drugs. According to a report by Rolling Stone, the charges related to possession of cocaine as well as heroin.

In that same year, Crosby was arrested in a hit-run case, but this time it was short and did not lead to prolonged imprisonment. The reports from the arrest say that Crosby drove into a fence in a neighborhood in Marine County, Northern California. When the police searched him, they found a .45 caliber pistol and cocaine.

On March 7, 2004, Crosby was accused of unlawfully possessing a hunting knife, ammunition, and around an ounce of marijuana. He was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon in the third degree.

The artifacts were left by Crosby in his hotel room in New York City. He spent 12 hours in jail for the offenses and was released on a bail of $3,500.
