A photo allegedly showing Zendaya posing at Met Gala this year is making rounds on social media. The gala was held on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, New York City.

The picture, which was originally shared by @arisdoja appeared to show the actress-turned-singer posing for the cameras on the red carpet. In the picture, Zendaya was seen wearing a black ensemble with sheer material placed at strategic places. The gown also has a long trail that went down from her shoulders.

Did Zendaya attend Met Gala 2023?

The photo in question, however, was photoshopped as Zendaya did not attend the event. The original photo was of British singer and songwriter Rita Ora wearing the outfit that Zendaya is seen wearing in this photo. she had arrived n the red carpet wearing a black gown with frilled bottoms.

The Euphoria star has attended Met Gala in the past. However, she has given it a skip in the last four years. In 2019, she appeared at the event alongside her good friend and longtime stylist Law Roach.

That year’s theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion, and Zendaya executed it to the T. She was dressed as Cinderella in a classic blue gown which lit up like magic when her friend showed up as Fairy Godmother.

Instead of leaving it up to speculation, Zendaya revealed her absence from this year’s Met Gala during her attendance at Euphoria’s FYC event on Thursday, April 20, 2023. “I’m gonna disappoint my fans here, but I will be working. Your girl’s gotta work and make some movies,” the actress said.

Zendaya was last seen at a public event at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. She was present to accept the Star of the Year award. She was also seen at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre Gala in Mumbai, India, where she looked spectacular in a beautiful galaxy-themed saree.
