To commemorate the first anniversary of the Fit India Movement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday participated at the virtual ‘Fit India Dialogue’. Among the participants were cricketer Virat Kohli, nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar and actor Milind Soman, among others.

At the Dialogue, the PM gave a slogan: ‘Fitness Ki Dose, Adha Ghanta Roz’.

He also launched ‘Fit India Age Appropriate Fitness Protocols’.

While interacting with the participants, he praised Devendra Jhajharia, the Indian Paralympic javelin thrower and Afshan Ashiq, Jammu and Kashmir footballer.

“Everyone says ‘bend it like Beckham, they should now say, ‘ace it like Afshan,'” the PM said.

Interacting with fitness enthusiast Milind Soman, Modi recalled how Milind Soman’s mother has inspired him as she sets fitness goals at the age of 81.

Speaking to popular nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, the PM revealed that his mother urges him to take turmeric every day. Speaking further on having nutritious food, he said, “Drumsticks are very nutritious, I used to have drumstick parathas.”

“I think I should share the recipe with everyone,” the PM quipped.

Talking to cricketer Virat Kohli, Modi joked that “maybe Delhi’s Chole Bhatures are missing Kohli.” He also wished the cricketer and his wife Anushka Sharma, who are set to welcome a baby.

Concluding his dialogue the PM said, “The family that plays together, stays together.”

The Fit India Movement was launched in September, 2019, and saw the participation of more than 3.5 crore Indians.
