Govinda, Shakti Kapoor: The inseparable duo of Bollywood

Actors Govinda and Shakti Kapoor have done several films together. When Govinda ruled the box office in the 90’s and had several hit releases every year, Kapoor appeared in almost every film, either as the villain or as a supporting actor.
Decades later, the duo reunited for an episode of Indian Idol 12 as guests, reported Times of India. In the show, Kapoor talked about the relationship he shared with Govinda and admired him for his humility.

Kapoor said, “Govindaji and I have a relationship of brothers. I have a lot of admiration for Govindaji’s work and his human nature.”
He added, “Govinda has supported me whenever I needed him the most. Like I was known to be the side actor and he, as a country’s biggest superstar, but he never made me realise this and helped me in elevating my career.”

Raja Babu (1994)
Directed by David Dhawan, the film tells the story of the protagonist getting rejected by his love interest and learning that he is adopted.
Coolie No. 1 (1995)
Directed by Dhawan, the film is about a coolie impersonating a wealthy man to marry a tycoon’s daughter. The hit film was remade last year where Varun Dhawan replaced Govinda as the lead.
Akhiyon Se Goli Maare (2002)
Directed by Harmesh Malhotra, the film has Govinda play a rich businessman who tries to become a gangster to impress his love interest’s father.
Bhagam Bhag (2006)
Directed by Priyadarshan, the laugh fest is about the members of a drama company getting dragged in a murder case.
