Actor Ayub Khan, who is still remembered for his role in the 1992 film ‘Mashooq’ and is often seen in the supporting cast on the small screen, says that he is suffering a lot financially because of the COVID-19 crisis.

“I haven’t earned any money since the last one and a half year, and am down to the last little pennies now,” said the actor in an interview with Hindustan Times.

Ayub is the son of Nasir Khan and Begum Para, as well as the nephew of veteran actor Dilip Kumar.

Talking about the15-day shutdown imposed in Maharashtra given the surge in COVID-19 cases and how it has affected the shootings of the TV shows and films, the actor admits, “It is affecting work, and emotional state as everyone is struggling. It’s been one and a half years since I’ve not been working (regularly). I’ve earned no money. So, the strain is huge.”

However, the 52-year-old says that “You can’t do anything.”

He added, “You just have to make do with whatever you have. And, God forbid, if things go from bad to worse, one will have to put out a hand for help. What else can you do?”
