The artist formerly known as Kanye West, now identified as Ye, issued a public apology in Hebrew on Tuesday to the Jewish community, expressing regret for his past antisemitic remarks. In the apology shared on X and Instagram, Ye sought forgiveness and acknowledged any pain that his previous words may have caused.
The release of Ye’s new album, “Vultures,” has reportedly faced delays, with the original release date in October pushed back multiple times. The timing of the apology coincides with ongoing efforts to address the repercussions of his past antisemitic social media posts, which drew widespread criticism.

Last year, Ye generated controversy with posts that included an apparent accusation against musician Sean “Diddy” Combs, suggesting he was controlled by “the Jewish people,” and another post featuring a swastika symbol within a Star of David. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), an organization that monitors antisemitism, characterized Ye’s remarks as inflammatory and conspiratorial, citing his direct reference in 59 antisemitic incidents tracked in 2022.
In his apology, Ye stated in Hebrew on Instagram, “I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unplanned outburst… It was not my intent to hurt or disrespect, and I very much regret any pain I may have caused.”

The ADL responded to Ye’s apology with a welcoming tone, acknowledging the initial act of contrition. However, the organization emphasized that actions would carry more weight than words, underlining the importance of Ye demonstrating a genuine commitment to positive change following the impact of his past remarks.
