- Akshay Kumar plays the title role in the film
- It also stars Kiara Advani and is set to release on November 9
- Karni Sena, in the legal notice, said that the title of the film shows disrespect to Goddess Laxmi
The makers of Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani-starrer ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ received a legal notice from Shri Rajput Karni Sena, demanding a change of its title. According to a report by Zoom TV, the notice states that the makers have “deliberately” used the title with the sole intention to lower the “dignity” and to show “disrespect” towards Goddess Laxmi.
As per the legal notice, the current title of the movie is “derogatory” and “offensive”. It also says that relating the name ‘Laxmi’ with ‘Bomb’ hurts the sentiments of the Hindu community.
The notice has been sent by advocate Raghavendra Mehrotra, on behalf of Shri Rajput Karni Sena. The notice also demands an unconditional apology from the makers for hurting their religious sentiments.
The notice states that naming the movie ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ sends out a wrong message in the society at large towards the “ideology, customs, gods and goddesses of Hindu religion.”
This is not the first time the film has got into controversy as previously, it was targeted for promoting ‘love jihad’. Earlier, Hindu Sena also demanded the title be changed and even wrote a complaint to the Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar.
