A new Vince Gilligan series has landed at Apple and has a two-season straight-to-series order. Exact plot details remain under wraps but Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn is slated to star in the show’s lead role.

In a statement, the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul showrunner said, “After fifteen years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes… and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn?”. Gilligan added, “It’s long past time she had her own show, and I feel lucky to get to work on it with her. And what nice symmetry to be reunited with Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes to ‘Breaking Bad’ all those years ago. They’ve built a great team at Apple, and my wonderful, long-time partners at Sony Pictures Television and I are excited to be in business with them.”

Gilligan has created the series and will serve as both showrunner and executive producer. The upcoming show comes from Sony Pictures Television, the studio behind Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Currently, Gilligan has an overall deal in place with Sony.

There have been some questions about what Gilligan would do after Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff that focuses on Saul Goodman. It traces the lawyer’s shift from a conman fond of cutting corners to attorney for Albuquerque’s criminals. Seehorn plays the role of Kim Wexler, Saul’s partner, throughout the show. The actor was nominated for an Emmy recently but did not win.

Seehorn is the latest of the BCS cast to star in their own series. Prior to this, there was news of Bob Odenkirk heading his AMC show, Straight Man, and Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Gus Fring, also stars in the AMC series Parish, which was earlier known as The Driver.
