Protesters gathered outside Jason Aldean’s concert on Saturday in Chicago and demonstrated their disdain for the controversial artist by marching, chanting, and flag burning.

Over 20 members from the Revolution Club of Chicago, who self-identify as communists staged a protest at Aldean’s concert in Chicago. Many of them called Aldean out, saying that they were not afraid of trying out anything anywhere. One of them even went on to call him a “fascist piece of s***.” One guy who was on a megaphone also shouted, “We will try that in a big city. And, we will try it right in front of your concert.”

The demonstration quickly turned from being anti-Aldean, to anti-America. One chant included the phrase “F*** the U.S. and all its might,” among others.

Eventually, the Chicago Police Department officers showed up and told them to scatter. They announced that their gathering had become unlawful and they were disturbing the peace. The group soon chose to disperse without causing further incidents. As a result, there arose no requirement for any arrests.

The controversy from Aldean’s hit, yet controversial song, ‘Try That In a Small Town,’ still continues to make headlines across the nation, especially as the singer continues to tour across different cities. Aldean is scheduled to be on the road through the end of October, by which time he will have hit up a number of stops here on the West Coast.

“Tonight as Jason Aldean held a concert in Chicago suburb Tinley Park, the RevComs (“Revolutionary Communists”) burned American flags in view of attendees, an act specifically condemned in the hit song Try That in a Small Town. Police declared an unlawful assembly and said it “has alarmed and disturbed others” and threatened to arrest and deploy ‘chemical and/or less lethal munitions.’ Police used a fire extinguisher to put out a still-burning flag as the group left,” N2S Reports editor-in-chief Ford Fischer wrote in the caption of a video of the incident.
