Rana Daggubati’s ‘Kaadan’: All about the film on human-animal relationship

Actor-producer Rana Daggubati is excited as his much-anticipated multi-lingual film, ‘Kaadan’, and ‘Aranya’ in Tamil and Telugu has hit screens today. “The epic battle of Man Vs Nature to #SaveTheElephants is in cinemas today! The film is also made in Hindi with the title ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’. However, the Hindi release of the film has been pushed because of the surge in COVID-19 cases.

The film has been receiving lots of praise on social media for the storyline that talks about animal abuse. Let’s take you to some of the facts related to the movie starring Rana Daggubati

‘Kaadan’, which translates to ‘Forester’, is based on the human-animal relationship signifying a deep and strong bond between the two.

The Tamil film was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi and each version has slightly different cast members.

Rana plays the role of a 50-year-old man who lives in a forest inhabited by elephants. The story deals with people from the city trying to occupy forest areas for their commercial projects disrupting the mobility of elephants causing conflicts between humans and elephants.

The actor returned to Chennai for the promotion of the film. The actor’s last film as a lead was back in 2017. During the conference, he said, “The difference between the other pan-Indian films I have done and Kaadan is that, here, we have shot every single scene thrice with different cast members.”

‘Kaadan’ other cast members include Vishnu Vishal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Zoya Hussain in the lead. Pulkit Samrat has replaced Vishnu Vishal in the film’s Hindi version.

The film was announced in December 2017 and the first look of the film was released in January 2018.

The film was initially slated to release on April 2, 2020, but it got pushed due to the covid-19 pandemic.

The film has been shot extensively in Thailand, Kerala, and Delhi.

‘Kaadan’ has extensive VFX sequences which have been done by Prana Studios, the same studio that worked for Hollywood films like ‘Life of Pi’ and ‘Thor’.
