Ryan Reynolds reportedly promises Deadpool isn’t in Doctor Strange sequel

Ryan Reynolds has quashed rumours about Deadpool appearing in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, as per Variety. 

The actor insisted, “I’m really not in the movie”, according to Variety’s report, and further dismissed suggestions that he might be lying, saying “I’m promising, I’m not in the movie”.

There has been some speculation after fans claimed to spot Deadpool in a poster for the upcoming ‘Doctor Strange’ film. However, Reynolds has now clarified that all this chatter is unfounded.

When asked about a third Deadpool movie, Reynolds only said, “It’s coming along”, as per Variety. 

Notably, the Doctor Strange sequel dropped another look during the Super Bowl, and fans immediately got their heads cracking over possible easter eggs.

Some claimed to notice a small sequence that might suggest an Iron Man variant being present in the movie. Superior Iron Man is an evil version of Tony Stark and a prominent Marvel antagonist. His supposed presence has reignited rumours that Tom Cruise might be stepping into the role of the genius inventor and superhero.

Since the new Doctor Strange movie picks up after the sorcerer has opened a gateway between universes, fans are expecting cameos from several known characters within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Already, Patrick Stewart’s Professor Xavier, the X-Men leader, is supposed to make an appearance.

Rob Liefeld, the Deadpool co-creator, also seemed to confirm the many fan theories on a YouTube edition of The Big Thing with Kristian Harloff. He said, “Here’s the deal you all know, I want to know — have either of you been caught trying to sneak into a screening of Doctor Strange 2? …They are testing the s**t out of this movie. The thing is, uh, they’re testing, it’s all getting out”.

‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ releases in theatres on May 6.
