The new Disney+ series Moon Knight provided a clearer look at its title superhero in a TV ad for the programme that aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday (in the United States).

While a previous teaser for Moon Knight identified Oscar Isaac as the protagonist, it only provided brief views of the actor dressed in his costume. However, in Monday’s 30-second Super Bowl ad, Oscar’s persona not only transforms into the Moon Knight but also provides a considerably more thorough look at the costumed superhero in action.

Moon Knight jumps over a roof to fight some bad men who are shooting at him in the new trailer. A low-angle image also shows the superhero grasping his crescent-shaped weapon. So far, Marvel fans have been wowed by the series’ aesthetics. “It was incredibly amazing how the cape shaped into the moon,” one person said. “I’m certainly here for the dark side of Marvel,” said another, referring to the series’ grim tone.

Moon Knight is the most recent Marvel Comics superhero to have its title in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In a recent interview, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige described the persona as “brutal.” “It’s been exciting to work with Disney+ and see the boundaries of what we’re capable of pushing.” “There are instances [in the series] when Moon Knight is wailing on another character, and it’s loud and terrible, and the knee-jerk reaction is, ‘We’re going to back off on this, right?'” he told Empire Magazine.
