‘Second hand embarrassment’: Internet slams new Khaali Peeli song ‘Beyonce Sharma Jayegi’

Makers of upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Khaali Peeli’ on Monday dropped a new item song called ‘Beyonce Sharma Jayegi’, featuring actors Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Pandey and it seems like the internet did no take it well.
The song which has been composed by music director duo Vishal-Shekhar, has been receiving heat from users on social media platforms, who alleged that the song has racist implications. Not only that, the netizens also apologised to Beyonce for the song itself, which compares the 24-times Grammy winner with Ananya Pandey who is a newcomer in the Hindi film industry.

‘Khaali Peeli’ is set to get an OTT release on October 2. Directed by Maqbool Khan and produced by Himanshu Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar, and Zee Studios, the movie was scheduled to hit the big screen on June 12. However, it got postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
