‘The Queen’s Gambit’ on Sunday won the Golden Globe award for the Best Limited Series or Motion
Picture
Made for Television 2021. The show/motion picture was an instant hit when it came out and was a much-anticipated win for this category.

‘The Queen’s Gambit’ that features on Netflix is directed by Scott Frank. The miniseries stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Bill Camp in lead roles

The other nominees in the category were ‘Normal People’, ‘Small Axe’,
‘The Undoing’, ‘Unorthodox’.

British thriller drama ‘Small’ and the American period drama ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ were the strongest contender in the limited show category. Small Axe, a five film collection is based on the real-life experiences of under-represented communities of of London’s West Indian community between 1969 and 1982.

While, ‘The Queen’s Gambit’,  released on platform in the second half of 2020, was the Netflix’s pick of the year for the category was the limited show, ‘Small Axe’ managed to bag awards in various categories in Chicago Film Critics Association Awards 2020 and New York Film Critics Circle Award.
