Wo chand thi, hai aur rahegi: Alia Bhatt introduces brothel queen Gangubai Kathiawadi

the occasion of director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s birthday, Bollywood
actor Alia Bhatt on Wednesday took to Instagram to share the teaser of her
upcoming film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. The movie is directed and produced by
Bhansali.
“Gangubai Kathiawadi Teaser, Happy Birthday Sir..I can think of no better way to celebrate you and your birthday. Presenting a part of my heart & soul. Meet .. Gangu!” wrote Alia on Instagram.
In the teaser, we see Alia in the titular role of Gangubai, an independent and fierce owner of a brothel. The character hails from the Kathiawad region of Gujarat.
The biographical crime drama film is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Gangubai Kothewali, the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali also wrote the screenplay of the film.
Alia Bhatt and Bhansali have come together for the first time for Gangubai.
The ‘Highway’ actor also revealed the release date of the Gangubai earlier today to mark the occasion of Bhansali’s birthday.
The film will hit theaters on July 30, 2021.
