Pat Cummins is an Australian cricketer who was born in Westmead, Sydney, who has represented the Australian national team in all formats of the game. He predominantly plays as a fast bowler who can also bat down the order. He made his debut in international cricket on October 13, 2011, against South Africa in a T20 match at Newlands. He donated an amount of $50,000 to PM CARES Fund in India to help the nation with medical oxygen supply and its fight against COVID-19.
Cummins was born on May 08, 1993. He grew up in Mount Riverview, with his two brothers and two sisters. He grew up idolising former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee, with whom he later played international and domestic cricket.

Cummins made his Test debut against South Africa on November 17, 2011, at The Wanderers, and made his One-day International (ODI) debut against the same team on October 19, 2011, at SuperSport Park. He has now played 34 Tests, 69 ODI and 30 T20I. He is currently the number one ranked bowler in Tests.
Cummins formerly played for Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and he currently plays for Kolkata Knight Riders. He first featured in IPL in 2014 for Knight Riders. In the 2020 IPL Auctions, he was once again bought by Knight Riders for Rs 15.5 crores, making him the then most expensive foreign player in IPL history.

Cummins is known for his wicket-taking ability in Tests, and for his pace and accuracy with his bowling. He is known to hit the deck hard, for his well-directed short balls, and for his control with the new ball in any format. He has an impressive bowling average of 21.6 in the longest format of the game, and also has the highest score of 63 with the bat.
