Aryan Khan, son of
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, will spend another night in jail as his bail
papers missed the deadline for filing on Friday. The 23-year-old star-kid has
been in judicial custody since October 8. The Bombay High Court granted bail to
Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Munmun Dhamecha on Thursday, however, the orders
were passed Friday, as a result of which the lawyers could not process the bail
application within the stipulated time.

For Aryan Khan to
leave Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail by Friday, a hardcopy of the court order had to
be dropped in the “bail box” by 5:30 pm. Prison officials said the papers did
not reach on time.

“We won’t give special
treatment to anyone. The law is the same for all. The deadline for receiving
the bail papers was 5:30 pm. That has passed. He won’t be released today,” a
senior jail official told PTI. “The bail box is shut. Any release now will
happen only after 10 am tomorrow,” another jail official told NDTV.

Gearing up to
welcome home his son, superstar Shah Rukh Khan had left “Mannat” for the Arthur
Road Jail at around 3:40 pm. Shah Rukh’s long-time friend and co-star Juhi
Chawla
stood surety for Aryan Khan and signed the Rs 1 lakh bail bond. Chawla
had to stand surety for the Mumbai sessions court to sign Aryan’s release
papers that were to be sent to the prison. Coming out after finishing
proceedings, Juhi Chawla said in Hindi: “The main thing is, the child will
return home now.”

On Friday, the Bombay
High Court
laid down the guidelines for Aryan Khan’s release. The conditions
for bail include: a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh; one or more surety; Khan will
not be allowed to leave the country or even Mumbai without the permission of
the investigating officer; he should not indulge in activities similar to what
he is charged with; should not make any statement to media about the case;
attend office of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) every Friday.
