Lynette ‘Diamond’ Hardaway, one-half of the pro-Donald Trump vlogging duo Diamond and Silk, died at the age of 51 in her North Carolina home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, according to a post on the pair’s Twitter account, which also requested privacy for her family. “The World has just lost a True Angel and Warrior Patriot for Freedom, Love, and Humanity!” said their Twitter account.

Why were Diamond and Silk fired from Fox News?

Fox News fired sisters Lynette ‘Diamond’ Hardaway and Rochelle ‘Silk’ Richardson in April 2020 after a string of exaggerated and deceptive claims on how to treat the coronavirus, according to the Daily Beast.

Fox had been silent for a while regarding the sisters, who gained fame (and infamy) during the 2016 presidential campaign as a result of their fervent support for Donald Trump and eventually landed a show on Fox’s streaming service Fox Nation. The decision came after a protracted silence by Fox. Which, given what Diamond & Silk have promoted using the Fox platform, is pretty astonishing.

The duo in 2020 had tweeted to their 1.4 million followers:

“We are the United States, not Communist China, this Deep State experiment that we’ve all been suckered into must end or we will no longer have our freedoms or our country. We were asked to go inside to flatten the curve, not the economy.”

The two have spread a variety of false information and conspiracies about the coronavirus. They have cast doubt on the fatal toll. The possibility of the virus being “deliberately spread” has been questioned. They had claimed that it is “engineered” and that the “Deep State” is operating “behind the scenes.”

Diamond and Silk were more of an enigma than expert contributors, video activists who managed to cultivate a larger circle in an age when social-media influencing is seen as a viable role. Apart from their support for President Trump, their credentials to discuss sensitive issues had not been established in the traditional sense.
