The Chinese New Year in 2022 was celebrated across the world on February 1, marking the beginning of the Year of the Tiger. The occasion was marked by tech giants too, with Google introducing a new doodle on the theme of the Year of the Tiger, and Instagram introducing new stickers and features.
Celebrities, too, marked the occasion on social media platforms by posting photos and videos of themselves and their families, and wished people around the world.
Here are some of the ways in which various celebrities celebrated the Lunar New Year in 2022.

Jackie Chan:
Action hero Jackie Chan from Hong Kong, known for a slew of films including the ‘Rush Hour’ trilogy, greeted his fans for the Chinese New Year, and urged everyone to “stay safe, healthy, and happy during these tough times.” The 67-year-old also announced a lucky draw in which fans have a chance to win a “lucky red packet.”
David Beckham:
Footballing icon David Beckham also greeted his fans to mark the beginning of the Year of the Tiger. The 46-year-old wished fans in Mandarin and showed off his culinary skills as he shared a video of himself cooking sweet and sour Mandarin fish. “I’m quite proud of how it turned out,” added Beckham.

Chloe Zhao:
‘Nomadland’ and ‘Eternals’ director Chloe Zhao also wished her fans on Chinese New Year 2022, with a photo of herself with a family member at home in China. Zhao, however, is at loggerheads with Beijing and has difficulties going home, and wrote, “Happy Chinese New Year! Missing home today.”
Donnie Yen:
Martial arts maestro and kung-fu star Donnie Yen, known for the ‘Ip Man’ film series, also wished his fans on Instagram while striking a kung-fu pose. “Wishing everyone heath and happiness,” wrote Yen.
Michelle Yeoh:
Hong Kong actor Michelle Yeoh, who starred in the Academy Award-winning film ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ in 2020, shared a video and several photos of herself celebrating the beginning of the Year of the Tiger with her family.

Tiffany Moon:
‘Real Housewives of Dallas’ star Tiffany Moon marked the beginning of the Year of the Tiger by sharing a video of herself celebrating the occasion with her family.
She not only wished her fans a “Happy Lunar New Year,” but also went on to explain some of the traditions, writing, “There are 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac and this year is Year of the Tiger. One of our traditions is that children are given hongbao (red envelopes) filled with cash inside. Families get together and eat dumplings.”
