6 things you should never do to your skin
- Sunscreen should be a compulsory product in your skin routine
- Never DIY high-level skin treatments without consulting a professional
- Over-exfoliation can remove the protective barrier of the skin
Making up to 15% of our body’s weight, the skin is the largest organ of our body and that’s why we must take care of it.
Here is a list of things you should never do to your skin:
Popping, picking and rubbing
The more you pop your pimples, pick your skin or rub your face, the more inflammation you create underneath the skin. All the germs on your fingertips transfer to your skin and cause various other skin problems and it seems like a never-ending cycle.
Over-exfoliating
It’s good to remove dead cells from your skin but not good to get obsessive about it. Over-exfoliation can end up with irritated and red skin. Make sure you are not scratching the surface too hard as it can remove the protective barrier of the skin, leaving it open to infections and environmental toxins.

Not using sun protection
Using sunscreens are important as the UV rays cause the skin to sag, get wrinkly or can even burn. Sunscreen should be a compulsory product in your skin care routine specially if you stay outside for a long time.
Long hot baths
Steaming showers can be relaxing for your mind, but they are not good for your skin. They dry out your skin causing itching and rashes. Try to avoid hot baths but if you still want to have them, then lower the temperature and make them short.
