Arvind Kejriwal appeals for vaccination for all aged above 18

  • Arvind Kejriwal also appealed to the Centre to decentralise vaccination prices 
  • He said the state's vaccination capacity will be ramped up from 40,000 to 1.2 lakh per day
  • He said that if the eligibility criteria is relaxed the entire population of Delhi can be vaccinated in 3 months

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday appealed to the Centre to relax the criteria for vaccination eligibility and allow everyone aged 18 years and above to receive a shot. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief also said that the state’s vaccination capacity will be ramped up from 40,000 to 1.2 lakh per day and can inoculate everyone in the state in three months.

Kejriwal also said that the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in Delhi was “nothing to worry about” and that strict directions have been issued for implementing tracing, testing, isolation of every infected individual, PTI reported. 

“Directions issued for strict enforcement of COVID-19 safety norms. Appeal people to get vaccinated without hesitancy,” Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal also appealed to the Centre to decentralise vaccination prices so that states can carry out immunisation on war footing. “If the eligibility criteria is relaxed, we can vaccinate the entire population of Delhi in three months.”
