Former India skipper and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was on Saturday hospitalised after he complained of chest pain, reported PTI, quoting a hospital official.
The 48-year-old is currently in stable condition and is admitted to the emergency ward of a private hospital in Kolkata.
The official said, “He is stable now. We are checking whether this pain is due to some cardiac problem or not. He requires to undergo several tests.”
Ganguly had complained of a chest pain after a workout session on Friday evening. His family members then took him to the hospital this afternoon when the problem recurred.
On hearing the news, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted, “Sad to hear that Sourav Ganguly suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery.”
ANI quoted BCCI Secretary Jay Shah saying, “I wish and pray for the speedy recovery of Sourav Ganguly. I’ve spoken to his family. Dada is stable and is responding well to the treatment.”
