BCCI President Sourav Ganguly’s health condition is stable, a senior official of the hospital said on Friday adding that doctors are planning to carry out essential medical examinations on him on Friday, reported PTI.

“Sourav Ganguly’s health condition is stable. He had a good sleep at night. All his vital parameters are normal,” said the hospital official.

The former Indian skipper underwent angioplasty on Thursday for the second time in a month where two more stents were implanted to clear his clogged coronary arteries.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the hospital on Thursday evening and told reporters, “Sourav is okay, he is doing well. I met him and his wife Dona after he was shifted to the bed following the procedure.”

Ganguly was hospitalised on Wednesday in Kolkata’s Apollo Hospital following dizziness and chest pain.

He had suffered a mild heart attack earlier this month and was diagnosed with Triple Vessel Disease. After that, he underwent his first angioplasty procedure during which a stent was inserted to clear a blocked artery.

Ganguly retired from Test cricket in 2008 with a record of 7,212 runs, including 16 centuries. His ODI record includes 22 centuries and 72 fifties, amassing 11,363 runs in 311 matches.
