Elimination Chamber 2021: The Miz beats Drew McIntyre to become WWE Champion

The Miz on Monday successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to dethrone Drew McIntyre as the WWE Champion shortly after the latter was attacked by Bobby Lashley. The attack happened after McIntyre retained his title in the Elimination Chamber match.

In his  Elimination Chamber match against Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, Sheamus, Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, McIntyre clinched the title by pinning Styles at the end.

Orton was the first to be eliminated after he RKO’d both Kingston and Hardy. Sheamus was the last to enter the match and eliminated Kofi Kingston with a Brogue Kick while McIntyre eliminated Hardy with a Claymore Kick.

With the three of them left to fight it out, Styles, who earlier made Omos to break his Chamber door, pinned Sheamus after a Phenomenal Forearm.

Following McIntyre‘s victory, Lashley ambushed him outside the ring according to CNet. Seeing the opportunity Miz came running in to cash in his briefcase.

Lashley on the other hand, lost the triple threat match against John Morrison and Riddle, that saw Riddle become the new United States Champion. 

Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship match against Daniel Bryan shortly after Bryan won the SmackDown Elimination Chamber against Cesaro, Jey Uso, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Corbin.
