Gold, silver and other metal prices on Friday, January 14, 2022

  • Gold futures were trading at Rs 47,876.00 per 10 gm, up 140 points or 0.29%
  • Silver futures were trading at Rs 62,049.00 per kg, up 129 points or 0.21%
  • Platinum was trading at $977.50 while palladium was trading at $1,871.00

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Friday, January 14, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 47,876.00 per 10 gm, up 140 points or 0.29%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 62,049.00 per kg, up 129 points or 0.21%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,825.90 per oz. Platinum was trading at $977.50 while palladium was trading at $1,871.00.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 46,880 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 61,753 per kg on Thursday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

In Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold stands at Rs 51,210, while in Mumbai it is at Rs 48,940, according to the Goodreturns website.

The price of 10 grams of 22-carat gold in Delhi and Mumbai is at Rs 46,960 and Rs 47,100, respectively.

In Chennai, 10 grams of 24-carat gold is selling at Rs 48,200 on Friday, while 10 grams of 22-carat gold is selling at Rs 45,190.

In Chennai, the price of 1 kg of silver is at Rs 66,000 on Friday, while in Delhi and Mumbai, the metal is selling at Rs 62,000.

Silver is selling at Rs 62,000 per kg in Kolkata, while in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, the metal is selling at Rs 66,000 a kg.

Gold has struggled in 2021 after hitting a record high of Rs 56,200 in 2020 as the dollar strengthened in hopes of a swift economic recovery as Covid vaccination picked up the pace.

Global equity markets also retreated today as investors grew increasingly concerned about a growing energy crisis and spiking inflation.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 750.70 down 0.40% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 1623.20 and Rs 232.75 per Kg respectively on MCX.
