India records 401,078 new cases of COVID-19, 4,187 deaths in 24 hours

India in the last 24 hours recorded 401,078 cases of COVID-19. India’s tally of COVID-19 cases now stands at 21,892,676. After recording 4,187 more deaths on Friday from COVID-19 across the nation, the death toll in India from coronavirus infection has now climbed to 238,270.
There are currently 3,723,446 active cases of COVID-19 in India. A total of 318,609 people recovered from the infection in India in the last 24 hours. The tally of recovered COVID-19 cases has now reached 17,930,960.
As of May 8, a total of 167,346,544 people have at least received a single shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccination drive kicked off in India on January 16 and currently, Serum Institute’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin are being administered.
