India records 50,040 new COVID cases, recovery rate rises to 96.75%

In the 24 hours, India recorded 50,040 new cases of COVID-19 and 1,258 deaths from the coronavirus infection. India’s COVID-19 tally, as of Sunday, stands at 30,233,183 ‬while the death toll from the pandemic has now climbed up to

395,751. 

There are currently 586,403 active cases of coronavirus infections in the nation.

A total of 57,944 people recovered from the COVID-19 disease on Saturday, taking the tally of recovered cases to 29,251,029. The recovery rate is now at 96.75%.

As of Saturday, 321,760,077 people in India have at least received a single shot of COVID vaccine since the mass vaccination programme, the world’s largest, was kicked off on January 16 in the nation with Covishield and Covaxin doses. On Saturday, 6,425,893 people received coronavirus vaccine shots.
