India’s COVID-19 tally crosses 52-lakh mark, 96,424 new cases in 24 hours
- 1,174 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours
- There are currently 1,017,754 active cases of coronavirus in India
- The death toll in the country due to COVID-19 is now 84,372
Around 96,424 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in India in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of coronavirus cases to 5,21,678. The death toll from coronavirus is now 84,372 after 1,174 people died on Thursday from COVID-19.
There are currently 1,017,754 active cases of coronavirus in India. 4,112,552 people have recovered or discharged from the hospital.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has said that around 60% of the active cases in India are concentrated in only the five most affected states. “There are 13 states and UTs that even today have less than 5000 active cases.”
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said on Friday that around 6,15,72,343 samples tested up to 17th September for COVID-19. Of these, 10,06,615 samples were tested on Thursday.
