With preparations underway, the 94th Academy Awards are set to return after last year’s low ratings and lack of luster. From comedic hosts to glamorous presenters, here is all you need to know about this year’s Oscars.

When are the Oscars?

The Oscars will be held on March 27 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre. The event is scheduled to begin at 8 pm ET and will be televised live on ABC.

Who are the hosts?

This year’s Academy Awards will be hosted by Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes, after three years of being held without an emcee. American producer Will Packer said that each female host brings something unique to the event.

Who are the presenters?

While producers of the show continue to add names, several celebrities are expected to present awards including Lady Gaga, Zoë Kravitz, Bill Murray, Samuel L. Jackson, Lily James, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Costner, John Travolta, Mila Kunis, Shawn Mendes among others.

Which films are nominated for Best Picture?

This year, ten films are competing in the best picture category- ‘CODA’, Drive My Car’, ‘Don’t Look Up’, ‘Dune’, ‘King Richard’, ‘Belfast’, ‘Licorice Pizza’, ‘The Power of the Dog’, ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Nightmare Alley’.

What to expect from the Oscars?

The event’s organizers have assured to keep the broadcast entertaining and cinematic.

“The show will flow, not unlike a movie, in that there will be different themes and a different feel and different energy throughout the night,” Will Packer said in an interview with IndieWire.

“It will not feel or look or sound like one show for three hours. It’s taking you through the course of this cinematic journey,” he added.
