England dominated the second day of the opening Test by building partnership with ease. The Indian bowlers, on the other hand, worked hard to peg back the visitors. Apart from Ashwin and Nadeem, who picked up two wickets apiece, pacer Ishant Sharma got his 299th Test wicket when he bowled Jofra Archer for a duck. Twin strikes by Sharma pegged back the visitors but Dominic Bess and Jack leach ensured that no more wickets were lost on Day 2.
