Nayan Doshi, a left-arm spinner and son to one of
India’s legendary left-arm spinner Dilip Doshi, will be the oldest cricketer to go under the hammer at Indian Premier League auction on Thursday.

This, however, won’t be his first foray into IPL. Doshi represented the Rajasthan Royals in 2010 and Royal Challengers
Bangalore team in 2011. The spinner has a total of four wickets to his name in the IPL.

Doshi’s journey started from the Indian domestic cricket
scenario. After competing in the Ranji Trophy with Saurashtra, he made the
shift to English county side Surrey in 2006, before terminating his contract
with the club on July 19, 2007 and moving onto Warwickshire, where a short
stint of his career was spent up until the end of the 2007 season.

He played a total of 70-first class matches for Saurashtra,
Surrey and Rajasthan between 2001 and 2013.

One of 17 Englishmen to feature in the final list of the IPL auctions, Doshi will be accompanied by players like David Malan, Jason Roy, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Alex Hales, Adil Rashid etc.

Doshi, reportedly, asserted that his decision regarding his
comeback to the sport were supported by his father. The tweaker is making a comeback to the game after nearly eight years.

The last time Doshi played
professional cricket was in December, 2013.

“I absolutely love the game. I did it because I believe in
what I’m doing,” Doshi was quoted as saying in an interview to Times of India.
