776 doctors died during second COVID wave in India, highest in Bihar: IMA

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Friday said that 776 doctors have died during second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bihar leads the chart with 115 deaths followed by 109 in Delhi.
Sixty-two doctors died in West Bengal, 23 in Maharashtra, 50 in Tamil Nadu and 79 in Uttar Pradesh, ANI’s Twitter post of the IMA circular revealed.

Earlier, Lav Agarwal, the Joint Secretary of the Health Ministry revealed that in the week of 4th May, 531 districts of the country were reporting more than 100 cases. In the week of 2nd June, it fell down to 262 districts. “Right now only 125 districts in the country are reporting more than 100 cases,” he said as per ANI reports.
The recovery rate in India has increased to 96.7%,” Agarwal added.
