Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Republican Marjorie Taylor exchange insults in a fiery Twitter fight

Twitter witnessed a war of words between US Congress Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Georgia hopeful Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday after the former QAnon supporter thanked the Congresswoman for putting an end to “dumb blonde” jokes.

“Don’t worry Mrs Greene, I completely understand why you need to swing + miss at my intellect to make yourself feel better,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted in response.

Greene, who is known as a QAnon conspiracy theory supporter, had tweeted that “as a blonde woman” she would like to “thank” AOC as “she has single handily put an end to all ‘dumb blonde’ jokes.”

“Blondes everywhere appreciate your service and your sacrifice!” she added.

In a strongly-worded reply, Cortez corrected Greene’s spelling and wished her luck. “You seem to have some trouble spelling your own insults correctly. Next time try ‘single-handedly,’ it’ll work better. Good luck writing legislation!” she wrote.

Earlier, Greene had posted on Facebook a photoshopped image in which she was seen holding a rifle next to Democratic Reps– Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar — who are members of the group of freshmen House lawmakers known as “the Squad.”

In the Facebook post, Greene said she was “tired of seeing weak, Establishment Republicans play defence.”
