Bartholomew Ogbeche, a former Nigeria international, played for Hyderabad FC in ISL 2021-2022 and a prolific season saw him becoming not only the franchise’s top scorer, but also the all-time top scorer in ISL history.

Born in Ogojoa, Nigeria, in 1984, Ogbeche became a Nigeria national team player at the age of 17, and even made two appearances in the 2002 FIFA World Cup where Nigeria exited at the group stage.

In club football, Ogbeche played several foreign leagues before arriving in India, including France’s Ligue 1, Spain’s La Liga, and the Netherlands’ Eredivisie.

He signed for Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 17, becoming PSG’s youngest scorer at 17 years, 1 month, and 24 days. He holds this record to this day.

In La Liga, Ogbeche made his debut in the 2007-08 season for Real Valladolid, where he made a total of 43 appearances over two seasons.

Later, Obeche also played for Championship side Middlesbrough in England, and his last stint in European football was with Dutch side Willem II in the Eredivisie in the 2017-18 season.

Ogbeche joined NorthEast United in the ISL in the 2018-19 season, and went on to play for the Kerala Blasters, Mumbai FC, and Hyderabad FC in the following seasons, respectively.

He has a total of 53 goals in 80 appearances in the ISL.
