States across India are facing a vaccine shortage. Several vaccination centres had been closed temporarily and a number of states have stopped inoculation those in the 18 to 45 age group so that they can be given to people who have received the first dose. Many states have also said they’ll float global tenders to procure doses.
Meanwhile, the union territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded 3,677 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally past 240,000. With 63 deaths, the UT’s death toll rose to 3,090.
