Bharat Bandh against GST: The services that may be affected tomorrow

Traders’ union Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) called
for a nationwide strike on February 26, where transporters and traders
will stage sit-in at 1,500 places across the country, to protest against rising fuel prices, E-Bill regime and the complex structure of Goods and Services Tax (GST) system in
country.

The bandh will be backed by All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA), which will hold a ‘chakka jam’, said CAIT Secretary-General Praveen Khandelwal.

Here is all you need to know about the ‘Bharat Bandh’:

Commercial markets will remain closed

All commercial markets across the country will remain shut as over 40,000 traders’ associations are taking part in the bandh, said CAIT chief.

Commercial Transport

Commercial transport is likely to be affected as the transporters’ association (AITWA) have asked transport corporations to avoid bookings and park their vehicles between 6 am and 8 pm to present a united front.

Bank Services

Bank services are unlikely to be hit as the protest is limited only to trade and transportation units. 

Health Services

No, health services, i.e, hospitals, medical clinics, community health facilities will not be affected in any way due to the bandh.

Bill-oriented services

Booking and movement of bill based goods and services is likely to be impacted due to the Bharat Bandh.
