Bihar’s Bibhutipur Assembly constituency elected incumbent Ajay Kumar of CPI(M) in 2020 Assembly elections. Kumar defeated Ram Balak Singh of JD(U) by a margin of 40199 votes. Polling for the Bibhutipur Assembly constituency was held on November 3, in Phase II of Bihar Assembly polls. Ajay Kumar of Communist Party of India (Marxist) defeated Ram Balak Singh of Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday.

The Bibhutipur assembly constituency was held by
JD(U) MLA Ram Balak Singh who defeated Ram Deo Verma (CPM) in 2015. The seat,
one of Bihar’s 243 assembly constituencies, is part of 22. Ujiarpur (Lok Sabha
Constituency).

As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly
constituencies Order, 2008, No. 138 Bibhutipur (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is
composed of the following: Bibhutipur community development block; Bulakipur,
Kamrawn, Malpur Purwaripatti, Rampur Jalalpur, Narhan estate, Bambaiya Harlal
and Ajnaul gram panchayats of Dalsinghsarai CD Block.

Bibhutipur is dominated by Bhumihar Brahmin and Kushwaha
caste voters.
