Chirag Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party, a former ally of the NDA, attacked the NDA Chief Ministerial candidate Nitish Kumar ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections, over allegations of corruption and large scale scams, ANI reported.

The 37-year old accused the Nitish Kumar administration of corruption related to liquor smuggling and questioned the JD(U) leader on why the liquor ban in Bihar was not being reviewed. He further accused Nitish Kumar of being complicit in the large scams and called him corrupt.

Paswan said, “He’s involved too. If not, it’ll be clear in a probe. But people in Bihar & I believe that he’s involved, he is corrupt.”

Raising questions against the Nitish Kumar Government, the LJP leader said, “Is liquor smuggling not going on? Everyone is getting it. Government and administration are colluding. There is not one minister in Bihar govt who doesn’t know about it. If you don’t want to review it, it means you yourself are involved.”

The Chirag Paswan camp decided to contest the Bihar state elections and deserted the JD(U)-BJP coalition over seat sharing equations.

Launching a scathing attack on a former ally, Paswan accused the Chief Minister of being involved in corruption. He also attacked the JD(U)-BJP government over its 7 Nischay schemes and the money it was receiving through illicit smuggling of alcohol.

He added, “Everyone knows where the money is going, the CM has to contest elections & do a lot of things. All of this is a matter of investigation. It’ll be investigated by our govt – that where is all the money of liquor smuggling, ‘7 Nischay’ scheme & funds by the Centre going.”
