Dehradun men, who threw gulaal on a dog, have been booked under The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

A group of men recorded themselves throwing color on a dog chained to a wall in a disturbing video that has gone viral on the internet.

Aditya Thakur from Dehradun, Uttrakhand, originally posted the video, which was captured on Holi, which was celebrated on March 18 across the country.

The video went viral on social media, provoking angry responses from netizens.

The man can be seen in the video throwing a generous amount of “gulaal” on a dog that was chained to the wall. The helpless pup can be seen barking while the man’s friends laugh and record the inhuman act on video.

The video received nearly 4 lakh views after being shared online. Netizens were outraged by the treatment of the poor dog and vented their rage in the comments section.

An Instagram user shared the video under the name @tedthestoner and wrote, “It’s 2022 and people still don’t understand that it’s not funny to cause so much pain and mental trauma to animals. In this video, the guy posted this video on his Instagram @adityathakur6840.”

“You can wash off your colors that contain chemicals and would irritate your skin, but that’s not possible for animals, especially stray animals. It’s not funny to put colors on their fur. It irritates them for days and months,” wrote another user.
