Reports from Russian media have indicated that on a Sunday in Makhachkala, located in the Russian Republic of Dagestan, local residents attempted to storm an airport with the intention of confronting any individuals arriving on a flight from Tel Aviv who were of Jewish descent.

Videos allegedly captured at the location and subsequently shared through local Telegram channels depict the scene as protesters can be heard chanting “Allahu Akbar.” These individuals reportedly stopped vehicles to inspect the documentation of passengers, primarily to determine if they had Israeli or Jewish affiliations. It was reported by the Russian state-owned RIA Novosti outlet that law enforcement personnel, including police officers and the National Guard, were present on-site during the course of the disturbances. As a result of the intrusion of these protesters into the airport, the facility was compelled to temporarily close its operations.

The reported incident raises concerns and underscores the importance of maintaining a safe and tolerant environment for all individuals, regardless of their background or religious affiliation. Law enforcement and local authorities play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors, and these incidents should be thoroughly investigated and dealt with accordingly to maintain social harmony and uphold the rule of law.
