The Delhi Police has put CM Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest after he visited farmers at Singhu Border on Monday, tweeted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference, AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said that no one was allowed to go inside and he is not allowed to come out. “MLAs, who had a meeting with CM yesterday, were beaten up by police when they went to meet him. Workers were not allowed to meet him either. BJP leaders are being made to sit outside his residence.”

He added, “The CM met farmers at Singhu border on Monday. He had said that we’ll serve them like ‘sewadars’ and support them. After he returned, Delhi Police barricaded his residence from all sides, putting him in a house-arrest like situation, at the behest of Home Ministry.”

Meeting the protesting farmers on Monday at Singhu border, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that his government supports all the demands of the farmers and have stood with them from the very beginning.

Farmers are protesting against the three new farm laws, which were passed during the Monsoon Session of the parliament in September, for 13 days now.
