Slamming Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his support towards farmers’ agitation, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked on what grounds was the former protesting the three agri laws, ANI reported.

“Does he understand anything about farmers? Does he know what farming is?” Chouhan hit out at Gandhi while addressing at a Kisan Sammelan on Wednesday at Rewa, MP.

“Can he (Gandhi) even tell the correct orientation to sow a corn plant?” the CM remarked.

He also hit out at former MP CMs and Congress leaders Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh over the two holding a fast as a mark of solidarity towards protesting farmers, ANI HindiNews reported.

“You (Nath and Singh) committed sin, fast as a mark of penance,” Chouhan said.

Farmers, chiefly from Punjab and Haryana, are protesting since November 26 against the three farm laws that were passed in September during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

The government has maintained that the new laws will bring farmers better opportunities and usher in new technologies in agriculture.
