The protest against newly-formed farm laws at different points of the Delhi border entered Day 21 on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar met Bharatiya Kisan Union and said that they support the farm laws. The Centre and the farmer leaders have held five rounds of talks, all of them remained inconclusive. Meanwhile, two farmers who were returning to Patiala in Punjab from a protest site near Delhi’s borders were killed in an early morning accident on Tuesday. Their tractor trolley was hit by a truck in Haryana’s Karnal district, police said, as per a PTI report. Farmers are demanding complete withdrawal of farm laws, saying that they would pave the way for eliminating the safety cushion of MSP and do away with the mandis. Atleast 20 farmers have died since the protest started outside Delhi and December 20 has been declared as a day of mourning and “homage will be paid to the martyrs in every village,” a farmer leader said.
