After seeing a suspected Pakistani surveillance drone near the international border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Jabowal village in the Arnia sector early on Friday, the Border Security Force opened fire at it.
“It was a quad copter trying to cross the international border,” according to BSF sources, and “was meant for surveillance of the area.” The drone returned as soon as BSF soldiers began shooting at it, they added.
After a drone assault on an Indian Air Force (IAF) station in Jammu on Sunday, security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir are on high alert.
During the following days, the army has neither acknowledged nor denied the passage of drones over its military posts at Sunjwan, Miran Sahib, Kaluchak, and Ratnuchak.
Drones have been observed virtually every day since then in various locations along the border.

Lashkar-e-Toiba is suspected of being behind the assault on Sunday.
Asserting that Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfits are behind the dropping of arms, IEDs and narcotics by drones in Jammu and Kashmir, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said on Friday that the time has come to defeat and reject terrorism to usher in peace and development in the Union Territory.
He said counter-insurgency operations would be further speeded up to wipe out terrorism, while efforts are on to further strengthen security arrangements to counter the threat posed by the drones, especially in the aftermath of the recent attack on the Indian Air Force base in Jammu.
